The Jack R. Gamble, Jr. Land and Mineral Rights Scholarship was established in August 2014 by Hanna Gamble in honor of her father. Recipients of this scholarship must be full-time students of the Law Center who are born and raised in Northwest Louisiana, including Caddo, Bossier, Lincoln, Ouachita, Union, Jackson, Webster, DeSoto, Red River, Bienville, Claiborne, Sabine and Natchitoches Parishes.
If multiple candidates apply, preference will be given to students from Desoto Parish. It is the preference of the donor that one student receive the scholarship for all three years of law school, with the following provisions for continuation of the award: the recipient must have earned a grade point average of 2.75 or higher in the first year of law school and must enroll in one land, mineral rights, or natural resources course by the end of his/her 2L year.
